Amersfoort In LEGO

Amersfoort In LEGO

Now on view | until 18 june

Tens of thousands of stones are required and a lot of patience. The busy Amersfoort dentist René Vos combines his interest in city history with his love for LEGO in his spare time. Without building kits, but based on photos, prints, paintings, archive documents and also simply by looking very carefully at existing buildings, he creates the Amersfoort city center in miniature, block by block.

Scale models of about ten monuments, including the Koppelpoort, Tinnenborch, the old town hall at the Hof and Cohen's house, can be seen in Museum Flehite from until June 18. Together with prints and paintings of the same buildings from the museum's collection, they provide a surprising view of the historic center of Amersfoort.

Build the Amersfoort skyline in LEGO!

An original LEGO set of the Amersfoort skyline has been developed by the Flehite Archaeological Association! The set of course includes the Koppelpoort and the Our Lady Tower. With one of the striking Foortse Torens in Vathorst in the east of the city and the Belgian Monument in the west. Of course also the Kei and to top it off the railway bridge with train in front of the Koppelpoort. The whole is on the same scale as the LEGO® Architecture theme and the set is approximately 32 cm wide, 10 cm deep and 16 cm high. It is a publication of the Flehite Publications Foundation and the Flehite Archaeological Association together with LEG Opmaatje. Available through the ovf website.
