In the Elleboog: The permanent collection of Armando's works in Museum Flehite received an enormous boost last summer through a very generous donation of eighty works by the Armando Foundation to the Amersfoort museum dome in C (of which Museum Flehite is part). The donation includes paintings, drawings, bronze statues and ceramic vases and covers virtually the entire oeuvre of the artist, who died in 2018 at the age of 88.
To celebrate this donation, Museum Flehite, in collaboration with Kunsthal KAdE, will show a wide selection in the Elleboogkerk at Langegracht 36 in Amersfoort in the autumn of 2024. Artist Krijn de Koning came up with a large independent object for the presentation. The construction consists of a dark corridor system, on which Armando's work is hung. The visitor can enter this corridor system through eight openings and thus walk 'behind' the Armandos. At the heart of the system is a sculpture by Krijn de Koning that illuminates the corridors from within.
Krijn de Koning has made the selection of the Armandos to be shown and zooms in on the more abstract component of the oeuvre.
The Armando Museum was previously located in the Elleboogkerk, between 1998 and 2007.
'Krijn de Koning & Armando' can be seen in the Elleboogkerk until January 5, 2025.
Tickets are 4 euros and can be purchased in the Elleboogkerk. Museum card is not valid.
