What happens when you truly look at someone? When you capture them in their most vulnerable, intimate moments? Amersfoort photographer Carla Kogelman – winner of the World Press Photo Award – always seeks sincerity and authenticity in her work. With her camera, she captures the essence of everyday life: love, freedom, vulnerability, family, loss, and identity.
From February 13 to August 30, 2026, Museum Flehite presents the retrospective exhibition Carla Kogelman: A Closer Look. Featuring dozens of portraits and stories from Amersfoort and beyond.
The exhibition is part of a collaboration with the Rietveldpaviljoen and the Mannenzaal, where Kogelman's work is on display simultaneously (but in separate exhibitions) for the first time.
Don't Stop The Kids | Rietveldpaviljoen | 19 February t/m 29 March 2026.
In the Rietveldpaviljoen, the exhibition Don’t Stop the Kids focuses on the resilience of children. This rich, interactive exhibition invites children and adults not only to look but also to play, learn, imagine, and create. For more information, visit the website.
A Doorstep Away | Mannenzaal | March 14 - August 30, 2026
In this photo series, Carla Kogelman follows residents and caregivers of St. Pieters en Bloklands Gasthuis. This series offers a unique parallel with the Mannenzaal original function as a nursing home.
